Background

Robert studied at London College of Printing 1970 to 1973. He is a photographer of the old school - a print photographer who loves the detail and chemistry - alchemy- of dark room printing. As printing becomes less and less fashionable, so certain of his materials have become less available. Favouring predominantly black and white, he uses a number of formats, those on the site at present shot in 35mm. Taken on Ilford FP4 and HP5, in Robert's exhibitions they are printed on Ilford Warmtone Fiber and Agfa Classic. Although the images featured here are negative scans, Robert does not exhibit or sell digital prints.

Robert lives in Merton, in Devon, and works as a woodworker and builder.
